In a purposeful disruption of the symmetry associated with turned wood, Gabriel Tan has designed the 'Void Sculpture' series, a family of wood objects that are defined by carved voids and offer a presence that is both philosophical and poetic. This low abstract piece, one of three volumes in the collection, is an unexpected and compelling sculpture with a gentle curved bowl-like surface that can also be used to accommodate small items.
