product description
Emanuel Ungaro Vintage Wool Skirt Suit with Mutton Sleeves Size US 4/6 Distinctive 1980s suit from the renowned French fashion designer, Emanuel Ungaro, features fabulous mutton sleeves and an asymmetrical front button closure. The pencil skirt has a waistband, on-seam pockets, and a back zipper. It appears that the hem been professionally let down about one inch - an easily reversible fix if desired. (It also appears that ""somebody"" overlooked steaming the skirt before photography.) The fabric is not labeled, but is definitely wool or a wool blend with a finely woven ribbed texture. The color is a blend of brown and green or teal fibers that give the suit a medium brown appearance overall. You can see the weave and the colors best in the last photo with the label. Labeled vintage size 8, but our sizing tables indicate it is closer to a modern size 4-6. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.* Jacket Measurements - Shoulder width is 15.5"" - Chest is 36"" - Waist is 30"" - Sleeve length is 22.5"" - Length is 22.5"" down center back. about EMANUEL UNGARO
The famous House of Emanuel Ungaro has humble roots - Ungaro's father was a tailor and he gave his son a sewing machine. Emanuel Ungaro began designing for the House of Cristobal Balenciaga for three years before quitting to work for Courrèges. Four years later, in 1965 with the assistance of Swiss artist Sonja Knapp and Elena Bruna Fassio, Emanuel Ungaro opened his own fashion house in Paris.
